Well, it took many extra layers of row covers, but our hoophouse tomatoes survived the cold snap! For any of you out there who don't remember what I am talking about...well it would be the 3-4 nights of TEENS in LATE APRIL that I am discussing. The official last frost date is the 15th of April, but man, that is usually just one night of a light frost, not three nights of deep cold weather. Our broccoli took a hit, but after Jim has sprayed and re-sprayed with fish emulsion, I think most of it will make it. I am really happy to be back in the normal weather pattern and hopefully the last few things we have planted will be SAFE!
