February begins

Hello Farm Friends,

Hello once again from the snow capped rocks at Rocky Glade Farm. Dylem is happy as can be bundling up and romping around in the snow. He actually told me he wanted to live in Antarctica so that he could play in the snow all the time. I don't doubt that he could. Dylem comes in from the cold all bubbly and wanting me to feel his "cherry cheeks" telling tales of critter tracks in the snow. Caleb is a whole different ball of wax. He falls down in the snow. He gets cold and when he comes in he is whiny because his hands are cold and a thousand other things are not right with the world. Amazing how two brothers could be so different, but they are and amazingly I love them both!

Most of our seeds have arrived and the time is upon us to get them started growing so they will be ready to transplant in another two months. Now that is something to look forward to. I am so glad there are seasons and I can look forward to the warm, sunny ones when I am in the middle of winter. Dylem might make it in Antarctica, but he would have to go without his mommy, and that would probably suit him just fine!

Have a great week!
Julie

Stones River Market, Murfreesboro fresh food option
We are proud to be members of the Stones River Market, a member of locallygrown.net. This is a great advancement for farmers allowing customers to become members of an "online" market, choosing products from many area farmers, but picking up their orders in one location, with one bill and your food all ready to go! Please visit . Stones River Market Locally Grown to see this week's list of available items. Orders can be placed Sunday-Tuesday (you get an email telling you the market is open after you sign up!) Delivery in Murfreesboro is in the downtown area around Cannonsburg (where the old Farmers Market used to be). For more information, please visit the website and contact the market manager!

On-line Farm Market
The ONLINE FARM MARKET will be closed THIS week as we are still recovering from the cold snap a few weeks ago.

Franklin Farmers Market
The Winter Market is open! Hours are 9-12 each Saturday. Our plans are to be there every other week during the winter months. We will be at the market this Saturday, February 6th from 9-12. This week we will not be accepting pre-orders for the market. We will have lettuces, choi, onions and a few other items available for sale at the market this weekend. Amounts will be limited as we are still recovering from the record cold a week or so ago.
