May/June 2012

Hello Farm Friends,
I am going to pull a fast one this time. This is a combo newsletter. It is still May and not quite June, so we are going to call this the May/June edition of the newsletter! I bet you all are as busy as we are here on the farm trying to get your school finished up, outdoor projects started and finished and vacations planned. It is SUMMER here in Middle Tennessee and everything is green, growing and in a hurry it seems this year!

The big news at Rocky Glade is that our summer crops are coming on strong! Tomatoes have made an appearance 2-3 weeks earlier than normal as well as bell peppers, and squash. What amazes me is that the spring crops seem to be holding their own as well. We have grown some beautiful broccoli this spring. It seems like I am always tooting the broccoli horn (it might be one of my favorite veggies! Maybe!) Seriously, very good stuff this spring!

We have kept our crew of Kels and Brian busy around the farm. Everyone is learning new skills and working hard. The farm honestly has never looked better or been more productive, so we thank Kels, Brian and Tim for working so hard alongside our family to bring you great produce this summer!

Our Summer CSAs are about to begin at the first of June, our grass-fed beeves are finishing on awesome spring pasture and our lambs are growing by leaps and bounds. It seems like everyone knows this is summer and it is time to be doing something. Mo our crazy cat even climbed a tree this morning. That is the most I have seen him to in WEEKS!

We hope you will stop by and see us this summer at the farm for pickup or at a Farmers Market. We appreciate you supporting our family farm. We love growing for you and as always promise that every single thing you purchase from our farm was grown and harvested by us, right here at Rocky Glade Farm.
Happy Summer,
Julie

WHERE TO FIND US THIS SUMMER?
We have several ways you can get our produce during the summer months. The Franklin Farmers Market on Saturdays, Stones River On-line Market, and Pickup at the Farm in Eagleville:

The Franklin Farmers Market is now open for the Summer Market. Summer hours are 8-1 on Saturdays at the Factory in Franklin. We also participate in the Tuesday Franklin Market held at Harlinsdale Park from 12-4 each Tuesday. You can pre-order for either of these markets by visiting On-line Market Page .

We are also open each week here on the farm. Orders are taken Saturday-Tuesday at On-line Market Page. You can place your order online, then pickup here at the farm on Thursdays from 3-6 pm.

Stones River Market is open for orders each Sunday through Tuesday with orders delivered to Murfreesboro on Wednesdays. This is a wonderful "market" for Murfreesboro where you can order from the comfort of your computer from many different farms, bakeries, etc and pickup in one location, just off the square in downtown Murfreesboro. For more information please visit Stones River Online Market.

Pa Bunks is now carrying Rocky Glade Produce in downtown Murfreesboro! For those of you who don't know Pa Bunks, it is quite cool! Corey Williams who owns it is one of the nicest folks you could ever hope to meet. He has a great variety of organic and natural products in his store including fresh produce, canned goods, ready to eat items, fresh locally made breads as well as sandwiches, fresh coffee and other drinks. If you are in the downtown area and need a break, go by Pa Bunks, grab a sandwich and drink and relax at Bunks! For more info visit Pa Bunks Organic Market.
