Mission Completion

Hello Farm Friends,
Well, the farm report looks a lot like this…we are done! You have no idea what a big statement that is to us! Except for adding doors on the ends to the hoophouses in the coming weeks we are completely finished with hoophouse construction. I am so thankful God allowed us to complete them with no injuries! Both houses are now actually growing things to eat and it is a beautiful site to see! We have also been busy getting fall things done in preparation for winter. The sweet potatoes have been dug and are curing now, but there is still lots to do. Next on our list would be to get the garlic and strawberries planted, then mulched well with their winter blankets. We ordered 50 pounds of seed garlic this year and it was some of the most beautiful garlic I have ever seen…hopefully our garlic will be that pretty next summer when it comes time to harvest it. Perhaps we will get some rain this week…it would be a most welcome sight for these sore eyes! Speaking of sore eyes…we cannot wait to see all of you at the Franklin Farmer's Market…it has been so long, but we will be back this Saturday, October 11th! Have a great week!

Photo of the Week
Jim snapped this picture when he was way up high working on the roof plastic of Hoophouse #4. You can see all kinds of stuff from way up there according to Jim…Julie wouldn't know as she was never brave enough to get up all that high. Have a great week!
