Farm Craziness Season

Hello Farm Friends,

It has been a while since I have really given you a farm report so here goes! The end of May-beginning of June officially marks the beginning of "Farm Craziness Season" for us. It is the time of the year when everything needs to be completed, be attended to at the same time. I am convinced this is the time period when the phrases "getting up with the chickens" and "burning the candle at both ends" was coined…and they were not kidding when they said these things, but obviously someone who was not working quite as hard thought it was funny!! Anyway, Farm Craziness is marked by hay needing to be cut and baled, calves needing to be weaned and the entire herd being checked out for health issues before the bull is turned in for the next breeding season. Crops need to be planted as well as harvested, as well as more ground to be worked up, the weeds are in a race to go to seed and we are in a race to stop their spread, bugs are so tickled to be warm and full and we are striving to keep them from eating the vegetables, Farmers' Markets are in full swing and well it just all needs to be done today. Tis the season, a busy one at that and during these seasons one begins to dream about Santa Claus…knowing full well that when Santa is truly here we will be dreaming of the bounty and busyness of Farm Craziness Season…are we ever satisfied?
Have a super week!
Julie

Photo of the Week
So many of you have asked about the boys at the Market, so I thought I had better give you a picture so you will recognize them in person when you see them again! And YES, Caleb nearly always wears his hat THAT low on his little head!
